5: These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they don't tell the truth. To them religion is just a way to get rich.
2 Timothy 3:5
- They will act as if they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. You must stay away from people like that.
Titus 1:11
- They must be silenced. By their wrong teaching, they have already turned whole families away from the truth. Such teachers only want your money.
2 Peter 2:3
- In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction is on the way.
Romans 16:17
- And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people's faith by teaching things that are contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.
- Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their own personal interests. By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people.
2 Timothy 3:8
- And these teachers fight the truth just as Jannes and Jambres fought against Moses. Their minds are depraved, and their faith is counterfeit.
Titus 1:15
- Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are defiled.
- Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are despicable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.
